This is supposed to be a tear jerker but the politically incorrect lines are the real highlights.

What do you get when you combine an offbeat, occasionaly black, but ultimately heartwarming story; a world-class, original script; and three expertly-cast, top-tier actors giving the performances of their lives? As Good As It Gets.

This movie is a classic, and if you need proof, look to the nominations (Best Supporting Actor) and awards (Best Actor and Actress and Best Film), and to all the people still writing reviews here over a decade later. We look up this nineties movie on Amazon and type about it when we should be working, we watch it on television even though we own it on VHS and DVD without commercials, we talk about it and even quote it ("Sell crazy someplace else") to the dismay of our loved ones. Mevlin Udall is the definition of an anti-hero.

This is what a romantic comedy should be-- less of what we WANT, more of what we NEED. This is As Good As It Gets.
